Lumineers® Porcelain Veneers
Gaps, chips, cracks, and a host of other dental problems can be hidden with Lumineers® porcelain veneers. Lumineers® are as thin as a contact lens, and unlike traditional veneers, they are placed over existing teeth without the need to remove existing tooth structure. They are a virtually painless way of correcting problems with your teeth, and they have been clinically proven to last more than 20 years. Additionally, Lumineers® can be placed over past dental treatments such as crowns or bridges without having to replace them. After an impression of your teeth is made, veneers are tailored to fit over the surface of the damaged teeth and are tinted to blend in with the rest of your smile. Then, they are bonded to the surface of the teeth using a special dental adhesive and curing light that should keep the veneers in place for many years. Veneers are placed with minimal discomfort, and generally require only two office visits. Having Lumineers® porcelain veneers placed over damaged, stained, or gapped teeth can change the whole appearance of your smile, and turn it from ordinary to brilliant in no time.
Traditional Porcelain Veneers
Dr. Richard Petrilli also offers traditional porcelain veneers for patients looking to correct dental problems such as misaligned, cracked, stained, or chipped teeth. These durable concealers are custom-made for your teeth, designed to fit over the visible part of the damaged tooth. After an impression of the teeth is made, the veneer is molded to fit the tooth. Then, the veneer is bonded to the tooth itself, and tinted to match the rest of your teeth. Traditional porcelain veneers are still very popular cosmetic dentistry treatments, and can conceal damaged areas on teeth for years to come.
Diastema Correction
Diastema is the dental term for a gap or space between two teeth. There are a variety of procedures that are designed to correct this condition. Dr. Petrilli highly recommends filling gaps and spaces with Lumineers® or composite bonding.
Crowns and Bridges
Damaged teeth no longer need to affect your smile. They can be remedied with the use of dental crowns -- custom-crafted tooth replicas designed to conceal the appearance of damaged teeth. A porcelain crown is created specifically to complement the color and shape of surrounding teeth and is fitted directly over the damaged tooth to create a new, unblemished surface.
Made up of two crowns connected by an artificial tooth, a bridge is used to eliminate a gap left by a missing tooth. A bridge’s crowns are carefully placed over teeth surrounding a gap so that the artificial tooth fills in the empty space. In addition to restoring the appearance of your smile, a bridge can also prevent your teeth from shifting toward the space where your natural tooth is missing.
For crowns and bridges, we often use Captek® restorations, a unique, scientific innovation 30 years in the making. The Captek® crown is strong and durable, employing a more advanced gold technology than traditional crowns. The crown also looks natural at the gum line, with no black lines, and reduces the accumulation of harmful bacteria. Dr. Petrilli uses a variety of cosmetic crowns and bridges that are free of metal and are much more aesthetically pleasing than traditional crowns and bridges. Captek® , Procera® AllCeram, and Empress 2 ceramic crowns are just a few of the options Dr. Petrilli offers at his Apopka, Florida, practice. Dr. Petrilli also has an extraordinary amount of expertise fitting patients with bridges and crowns, employing years of skill to “bridge the gap” in your smile.
Zoom!® Teeth Whitening
Achieve the brightest, whitest smile possible with one of the most effective in-office teeth-whitening procedures in the world: Zoom!® teeth whitening. After just one office visit, you’ll see almost immediate results. With the Zoom!® system, Dr. Petrilli can whiten your teeth by up to eight shades in about an hour. The whitening process begins with the application of a gel to the enamel of the teeth. The teeth are then exposed to a special lamp, which breaks down the gel, releasing oxygen into the tiny pores in the tooth enamel and dentin. This bleaches the teeth without damaging them.
Although many people are candidates for this extraordinary procedure, Zoom!® teeth whitening is not recommended for women who are pregnant or nursing, people with light-sensitivity, or patients who have been diagnosed with melanoma and/or are undergoing photochemotherapy treatments. Also, people who are taking prescription or over-the-counter medications that produce light sensitivity should consult their physician prior to undergoing the Zoom!® teeth whitening procedure. There are alternatives available for those who are not candidates. For those who are, we invite you to Zoom!® into a future of whiter teeth, brighter smiles, and improved confidence in your appearance!
